This is your chance to own the beach house where Emily Thorne (aka Amanda Clarke) lived on the soapy nighttime drama “Revenge.” It’s not really in the Hamptons like it was on TV, though — the real deal is in Southport, North Carolina. And they made a few other changes to the house for television, as you’ll see!
The Real Beach House from “Revenge”
Here’s how the exterior of the beach house looked during the opening credits of “Revenge” (below):
The listing says:
It is the water that greets you when entering the statement double doors of this custom waterfront home. Featuring an open floor plan with beautiful heart of pine floors and windows that offer spectacular views of the Cape Fear River, Bald Head Island, Oak Island lighthouse out to the mouth of the Atlantic Ocean. Fans of the TV series Revenge will remember this house was featured as Emily’s Beach house.
They created a fake front porch for filming (via a video tour of the set):

The beach house has 3 bedrooms, 4 baths, and 3,600 square feet.
“Upstairs the entire second floor is a master suite with private balcony to sit and enjoy life on the water.”

The real thing is bigger and less “shabby chic:”
“Ensuite bath includes soaking tub with stunning views, double vanities , amazing his and her walk in closets.”

Spacious foyer area leads to the gourmet kitchen with custom cabinetry, Viking gas appliances, vent hood, a grand island and a walk-in butler’s pantry — all of this makes this kitchen and dining area perfect for entertaining.

The sprawling exterior of Grayson Manor was created via CGI and doesn’t really sit next to Emily’s beach house:
According to I Am Not a Stalker, the exterior was based on a real house in East Hampton.
I tracked it down via Google Streetview on Further Lane:
A reader named Jim tells me: “They just stretched it, moved the pool and added a few extras for TV.” He directed me to this image of what the real exterior looks like (below), and it does match the one I found on Streetview (above):
Victoria’s tower was one of the things they added on:
They created some fake exteriors of the manor on the soundstage for closeups, too:
For the pilot episode, they filmed inside a real house in Wilmington, NC, and the Grayson Manor set was later based on it:
When they were shooting outdoor scenes by the pool, they used a house in Malibu on Winding Way:

I loved this show, but they lost me when they burned down Grayson Manor! Boo.
It would be pretty cool to live in Emily’s house, wouldn’t it? First thing I’d do is carve the “infinity” symbol into the porch rail like hers, ha.
